Yeah, yeah, I'm late to the party on the Holy Joe issue today. But listening to Harry Reid's pathetic excuse for a justification, and Lieberman's utter refusal to show any contrition -- or even gratitude -- after the Senate Democrats' unearned forgiveness, I feel moved to write. Can you bear another opinion?
All of us have worked and contributed and hoped so hard for the past two years or more, we may be forgiven for thinking that we won the election last November 4th. But we didn't, in fact. A certain class of Democratic professional politicians won the election. Their ranks have swelled somewhat with people who have sympathy for our views, but those new Congressmembers are not the winners: they're the new backbenchers. We are just "the American people,""the lefty blogosphere," or whatever dismissive label the Washington insiders choose to marginalize us after the time for patronizing us and utilizing us is over.
