Early this morning pico wrote an important diary pleading for help with the No on Prop. 8 campaign in CA. It is full of useful links and the latest information on polling in this tight race, where all our efforts are needed.
Prop. 8 would, of course, reverse the recent CA Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage in our largest state. It is being pushed primarily by the Mormon Church, in a vicious campaign of lies and smears. It would write discrimination into the constitution of the largest state in the country, a very bad precedent for the country at large.
Gay marriage is perhaps the pre-eminent civil rights issue of our time. All liberals and progressives have a stake in the outcome of this question. Please do everything you can, and please recommend pico's diary if you feel it worthy so more can see it.
