In this cheerful Christmas season, there are many who have a hard time finding cheer. Many needy and homeless and lonely souls, searching for help and warmth and companionship. Those who reach out and provide that help are saints among us, and they deserve all our thanks and support.
pfiore8 reminds us this morning of one such person, Gratiela Ristea, who runs a shelter for dogs in Romania called Prietenii Nostri. She does this on her own, with support from well-wishers, and currently provides food, shelter and medical care for 400-500 dogs while she tries to find them loving homes. Many of her dogs face the winter cold, and need our help.
In a world of so much need, it's hard to help everybody. But these wonderful creatures depend upon Gratiela, and she depends on us.
